As a multi-faceted theme park and entertainment venue, Jungle Island offers an extraordinary array of positions and career opportunities. In addition to the traditional administrative functions such as accounting, human resources, facilities maintenance, housekeeping, security, marketing and public relations, we also employ animal keepers and veterinary technicians, as well as positions in horticulture, landscaping and field maintenance. Banquet Steward, front of the house
Position responsible for keeping the back hallway clean and stocked prior to, during and after events. Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends and lift 50 pounds. Position will be the liaison between the kitchen and the banquet area $10.00 per hour

Examples of duties:
Bringing items up to and back to second floor storage
Preparing any special table or bar garnishes needed for events
Proper storage of chafing dishes other banquet equipment
Organization of the second floor storage
Inventory control


Lead Bartender/Supervisor position
This position is responsible for the proper set up, distribution and inventory control of our liquor operation.In addition he/she will also be assigned as a bartender as delegated by our director of banquets as needed and also to allow the individual to maximize their hours. $7.50 per hour plus service gratuity for each event worked or one shift gratuity if assigned as a supervisor.

Retail Gift Shop Manager

This senior level position is responsible for the management, operations and sales achievement of all retail operations in the theme park. The position is expected to initiate and implement financial controls, inventory control, purchasing decisions, and supervisory responsibilities and has responsibility for achieving and enhancing our overall sales.

Skills/ Requirements

AA degree or equivalent of 7 years progressively responsible supervisory and sales goals achievement experience
A minimum of five years purchasing and inventory control experience
Documentable increases in sales responsibility
Must have computer knowledge and experience with retail/ inventory analysis and open to buy procedures

Catering Sales Manager

The Catering Sales Manager is an essential sales position responsible for actively soliciting new business as well as maintaining current client relations for both the ballroom and the theme park. The Catering Sales Manger is a relationship based position recognizing that relations with meeting planners, corporate contacts, non-profit entities and the general public interested in social activities are the primary source of business opportunities. We are a seven day a week operation opened mornings, afternoons and evenings, thus the Catering Sales Manager is expected to work extended hours including weekends and holidays to accommodate a client's needs at the various functions we are hosting. This position is held accountable for annual sales goals and compensation is structured around a base and commission plan.

Skills/ Requirements

-High school or equivalent education required however a Bachelor's Degree in preferred.
-Three to five years of progressively responsible catering sales experience preferred, experience in handling social and corporate events.
-Previous experience in the food and wine industry to be able to sell relevant menu's is essential
-Experience with outside sales and prospecting calls is required
-Must be able to execute event planning from the initial sales to the final execution of the event
-Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills a must
-Bi-lingual, speaking English and Spanish is preferred
