The Primate Handler provides proper care and maintenance for all primates utilized at Jungle Island while providing the public with educational and entertaining displays and presentations. Previous hands-on animal work experience (zoo animals) highly recommended. Ability to work with large groups of people. Observant, highly flexible individual with a positive and creative outlook is preferred for this continually evolving position. Education: High School Diploma required or equivalent GED. Must be willing to work weekends, holidays and some evenings.
Compensation: $7.31 – $8.30 per hour
Catering Sales Manager
Responsible to Plan, coordinates, and implements catered events. Candidate should be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan, accomplish goals and performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. Typically reports to a senior manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Education and experience: Requires an associate's degree or its equivalent and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Tour & Travel Manager
The Tour & Travel Manager is an essential sales position responsible for the selling of Jungle Island to the tour and travel market. We are a seven day a week operation, thus the person employed is expected to work extended hours including weekends and holidays. The Tour & Travel Manager must also contact and solicit new business with local, domestic and international tour operators.
Education and Experience: Associates Degree required in Business, Marketing or related field. A minimum of three years related experience including sales marketing or public relations.
Show Performer
The Animal Show Trainer is responsible for offering the attending public quality shows and to produce future trained birds. Duties include presenting entertaining & educational performances to the public as well as training & maintenance of various reptiles. High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required. Must have 3+ years experience handling reptiles as well as crocodiles. Excellent communication skills & public speaking skills required. Education: High School Diploma required or equivalent GED, A.A preferred. Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and some evenings.
Compensation: $8.00-$10.00 per hour
