Give your kids an excuse to go wild by enrolling them in the Miami Summer Camp Ed-venture Camps at Jungle Island that will be held from June 13 - August 5, 2016. Campers will learn about wildlife, investigate animal habitats, explore conservation efforts, and find out what it is like to be a zookeeper in a series of weeklong sessions that will provide campers with a unique look at the fascinating creatures found at Jungle Island. In the week long program, campers will participate in a variety of learning sessions, animal encounters, arts & crafts, games and other hands on activities.
Wild About Animals - Weeks 1 & 5 – June 13 and July 11
Where can you go to see a sloth? Are there pigs in the rainforest? During “Wild About Animals” week, campers will get a first-hand look at the ins and outs of animal survival and explore habitats such as the rainforest, desert, and ocean so they can decide their favorite. Activities will include scavenger hunts, animal interactions, crafts, and games that explore the different animal habitats on planet Earth
Protect and Conserve – Weeks 2 & 6 – June 20 and July 18
Certain species of leopard, tiger, and lemur are at risk of becoming extinct! Can you imagine a world without these animals? No matter how young you are, everyone can make a difference! Campers will be encouraged to become an Earth hero by learning how to protect animals and our planet. Throughout the week we will take a look at all of the ways we can save our home. Campers will come face to face with endangered animals, make recycled art, and even plant their own vegetables to take home.
Animal Adventures – Weeks 3 & 7 – June 27 and July 25
Did you ever wonder how polar bears handle the icy waters of the Arctic or just how monkeys find food in the forest? Nature can be a dangerous place, would you be able to survive like an animal in the wild. During “Animal Adventures” week campers will be playing the role of the critters! Each day we will work with different animals, do research, play survival games and create life cycle art to learn how these creatures make it in the wild.
Junior Animal Keeper - Weeks 4 & 8 – July 4 and August 1
Do you have what it takes to work at Jungle Island? This week campers will be learning all about a day in the life of our animal keepers and veterinarians. Explore what it is like to prepare our animal's special diet, handle exotic animals, and care for the health of our critters! Campers will partake in special activities, animal interactions, crafts, and events throughout the week that allow them to experience life at Jungle Island.
Jungle Island is open 365 days a year. Special shows and events at this popular Miami attraction may extend Jungle Island’s hours.
